Three RRB Stage-2 exams now have official dates — RRB JE CBT-2 on 2 July, RRB NTPC Graduate CBT-2 on 10 July and RRB ALP CBT-2 on 28 July 2026 — while the September–October dates (NTPC Undergraduate CBT-2 on 17 Sep, NTPC Graduate CBAT around 30 Sep, ALP CBAT around 30 Oct) come from the RRB calendar updated on 13 June 2026 and are still tentative. The RRB Group-D / Level-1 exam (CEN 09/2025) has no announced date yet and is only expected around August 2026. The next few months are the busiest railway-exam season in years. Three RRB Stage-2 exams now have official dates — RRB JE CBT-2 on 2 July, RRB NTPC Graduate CBT-2 on 10 July, and RRB ALP CBT-2 on 28 July 2026 — while the September–October dates (NTPC Undergraduate CBT-2, the two CBATs) come from the RRB calendar updated on 13 June 2026 and are still tentative. The much-awaited RRB Group-D (Level-1) exam has no announced date yet. Here is the verified, up-to-date schedule, with each date clearly marked as confirmed or tentative.
Heads-up: some exam-schedule graphics doing the rounds have wrong dates — a "3–21 August" Group-D window, an "11 September" NTPC CBAT and a "29 September" ALP CBAT. None of those match an official source. The correct status of each is below.

Stage-2 (CBT-2) dates are from official RRB schedule notices. The CBAT and NTPC-UG CBT-2 dates are from the RRB calendar updated on 13 June 2026 and are tentative until each board issues its own notice. Verify on your regional RRB website.
What each exam is — in one line
- RRB JE CBT-2 (2 July): the second-stage technical paper for Junior Engineer and allied posts, sat by candidates who cleared JE CBT-1.
- RRB NTPC Graduate CBT-2 (10 July): Stage-2 for graduate-level NTPC posts (Station Master, Goods Train Manager, etc.), for CBT-1 qualifiers — 88,037 shortlisted in this cycle.
- RRB ALP CBT-2 (28 July): Stage-2 for Assistant Loco Pilot, with Part A (general) and Part B (trade), for ALP CBT-1 qualifiers.
- RRB Group-D / Level-1 (expected Aug): the single CBT for Level-1 posts (track maintainer, pointsman, helper), open to 10th-pass/ITI candidates — CEN 09/2025 has 22,195 vacancies.
- RRB NTPC Graduate CBAT (30 Sep, tentative): a qualifying Computer-Based Aptitude Test taken only by Station Master / Traffic Assistant aspirants after CBT-2.
- RRB NTPC Undergraduate CBT-2 (17 Sep, tentative): Stage-2 for UG-level NTPC posts (Clerk, Typist, Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk).
- RRB ALP CBAT (30 Oct, tentative): the psycho/aptitude test for ALP CBT-2 qualifiers; final merit = 70% CBT-2 + 30% CBAT.
Confirmed vs tentative — what it means for you
The three July CBT-2 dates are firm because the relevant RRBs have issued schedule notices for them — plan your revision around 2, 10 and 28 July. The September–October dates are tentative: they appear in the consolidated RRB calendar but no board has issued a formal schedule notice yet, so they can shift. The Group-D date is genuinely unknown — aggregators guess late August, but RRB has not confirmed anything, so don't trust a fixed Group-D date until the official notice.
How to check your exam city and admit card
- City Intimation Slip — releases about 10 days before the exam. It tells you only your exam city, date and shift so you can plan travel.
- E-Call Letter (Admit Card) — releases about 4 days before the exam, with the exact centre address and reporting time.
- Where: log in to the RRB regional website for the region you applied to, or the unified portal rrbapply.gov.in, with your registration number and date of birth, and open the "Exam City / Admit Card" link.
- At the centre: carry the printed admit card and one original photo ID. Aadhaar-linked biometric verification is now done at the centre, so keep your Aadhaar unlocked.
