When is the admit card usually released before a sarkari exam?

Most central recruiters release the call letter 10 to 15 days before the exam date. UPSC and SSC follow a strict 14-day window. Railway and banking exams sometimes release admit cards in two phases — first an exam city intimation slip, then the actual hall ticket four days before the exam.

What documents must I carry along with my admit card to the exam centre?

Carry the printed admit card, one original photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, voter ID, passport or driving licence), two passport-size photographs matching the one on your application, and a transparent ballpoint pen. Some exams also need a category certificate or PwBD certificate — check the instructions on page two of your call letter.

I forgot my registration number. How do I download my admit card?

Use the "forgot registration number" link on the recruiter's login page. Enter your name, date of birth and registered email or mobile — the system will SMS your registration ID within minutes. If that fails, contact the recruiter helpline at least 48 hours before the exam, not on the morning itself.

Is an e-admit card valid at the exam centre or do I need a printed copy?

A printed colour copy on A4 paper is mandatory at every government exam centre. Soft copies on phone or laptop are not accepted. Print two copies, sign both in the candidate signature box only in front of the invigilator, and keep the second copy as a backup.

There is an error in my admit card photo or name. What should I do?

Minor mismatches do not cancel your candidature, but flag them immediately. Email the recruiter helpdesk with your registration number, the error and a scan of your original ID. Carry an additional government photo ID and one self-attested affidavit to the exam centre to avoid any verification dispute.
