The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is releasing the Class 12 re-evaluation and verification results for 2026 in phases, having started on 1 June 2026; by 21 June more than 87% of applications had been processed, with the rest following shortly. If you applied to verify or re-evaluate your marks after the main result, you can now check your revised scorecard on DigiLocker and the CBSE portal. After re-evaluation the new mark is final — it may be higher, lower or unchanged.

The three-step process, explained

CBSE post-result review runs in a fixed order, and each step is a separate application:

  1. Photocopy of the evaluated answer book — you first see exactly how your paper was marked.
  2. Verification of marks — a clerical check for totalling errors or any unchecked answer; no re-marking of content.
  3. Re-evaluation — a subject-expert committee reviews the specific questions you challenge against the official marking scheme. Marks may go up, down or stay the same, and the revised mark is final.

How to check your revised CBSE marksheet

  1. Open DigiLocker or the CBSE portal at cbse.gov.in / pvr.cbseit.in (the link is in the Important Links section below).
  2. Enter your registration number, roll number and date of birth.
  3. View and download the revised scorecard PDF; if your marks changed, the updated marksheet is what counts for admissions.

Re-evaluation, verification & photocopy fees (2026)

CBSE sharply cut its post-result service fees for 2026. The current charges are ₹100 per subject for a photocopy of the evaluated answer book, ₹100 per answer book for verification of marks, and ₹25 per question for re-evaluation. Crucially, the re-evaluation fee is refunded if your marks increase after the expert review, so a well-justified challenge carries little downside. These charges are down by up to 85% from earlier years.

A note for students and parents.

Re-evaluation is a genuine two-way bet — go in with eyes open. Because a subject expert re-marks against the scheme, your score can fall as easily as it can rise, so apply only where you have a specific, defensible reason to believe a question was under-marked rather than as a blanket gamble on every paper. Two practical points. First, the photocopy step is the smart first move: seeing your actual answer book tells you whether the issue is a totalling slip (fixed cheaply by verification) or a content dispute (which needs re-evaluation), and saves you from challenging the wrong thing. Second, if your revised marks come out higher, download the updated marksheet immediately and use it in admission portals such as CUET-based university counselling, where the corrected score can change your eligibility. Watch only DigiLocker and cbse.gov.in, since the revised result is released in phases and aggregator "out" claims run ahead of your specific application.
