CRPF Constable Tradesman Online Form 2026: 9,195 Posts, Apply by 19 May at rect.crpf.gov.in — Analysis & Trends

⏰ Form OPEN — 5 days left as of 14 May 2026

CRPF is recruiting 9,195 Constables under the Technical, Tradesmen and Pioneer streams of the 2026 cycle. Online applications run from 20 April to 19 May 2026 at rect.crpf.gov.in. Eligible candidates: 18-23 years (21-27 for Driver), Class 10 pass with the trade-specific ITI certificate. Fee is a one-time ₹100 for UR / EWS / OBC male candidates; SC, ST, all female and Ex-Servicemen pay nothing. Pay is Level 3 of the 7th CPC matrix.

What this recruitment is about, in one paragraph

CRPF Constable (Technical, Tradesmen and Pioneer) is the support-cadre constable entry for India's largest Central Armed Police Force. Tradesmen run the day-to-day functioning of CRPF battalions: cooks, tailors, cobblers and barbers keep troops in the field; carpenters, masons, painters, plumbers and electricians maintain camps and accommodation; drivers and motor mechanics keep vehicle fleets running; brass and pipe bands handle ceremonial parades. The Pioneer wing handles construction and field engineering. Recruitment is a one-time CBT plus PET/PST plus a trade test — there is no interview, and final merit is decided on CBT marks alone, which keeps the process objective. If you're still deciding which trade to pick, our CRPF Tradesman trade-by-trade guide breaks down what each trade (Cobbler, Mali, Cook, Tailor, Barber, Painter, Mason and more) actually does, the ITI need, physical standards and salary — all trades share the same Pay Level 3.

Vacancy breakup — where the 9,195 posts sit

Trade-wise distribution (Driver, Cobbler, Tailor, Cook, Mason etc.) and state-wise allocation are spelled out in the official notification PDF on rect.crpf.gov.in. The female intake of 79 across all trades is small — this is consistent with prior CRPF tradesman cycles where most posts are male.

How competitive is this recruitment likely to be

CRPF tradesman cycles historically attract 25-30 lakh applications against 5,000-10,000 vacancies, giving a raw ratio of roughly 250-300 applicants per post. The CBT is the main filter — physical tests are qualifying-only, so a high CBT score is essential. Cut-off in past cycles has hovered around 50-58 marks for unreserved candidates, 45-52 for OBC and 40-48 for SC / ST in most trades. Targeting 70+ marks on the CBT is a safe planning target for any category.

Pay and joining

Constable (Tradesman, Technical and Pioneer) sits on Pay Level 3 of the 7th CPC matrix: basic ₹21,700 to ₹69,100. Gross in-hand in the early years is approximately ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 per month after DA (currently 50% of basic), HRA (depending on city), Ration Money Allowance, Free Uniform, Nursing / Risk allowance for field postings, and the standard 14% NPS contribution. Postings are across CRPF's 246+ battalions and group centres — Jammu and Kashmir, North East, Bastar / Maoist-affected zones, and central training institutions like BTC Coimbatore and RTC Neemuch are typical first postings.

What to do between now and 19 May

  • Apply early. The portal slows down in the final 48 hours of every CAPF recruitment.
  • Triple-check your ITI certificate trade name against the trades listed in the notification — the system rejects applications where the ITI trade does not exactly match a CRPF trade.
  • Start basic physical preparation: 5 km in 24 minutes for males. If you cannot do that today, build it up steadily — three sessions a week of progressive running + a long Sunday run.
  • If you wear glasses, check refractive numbers against SHAPE-I standards (typically max ±4.0 D myopia, ±2.5 D hypermetropia). Get an early eye check.
  • Save the official notification PDF from crpf.gov.in. Re-read the trade-wise vacancy and reservation tables in your own time.
