The Delhi Police Constable Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT) is the stage that follows the written CBE for qualified candidates. It is qualifying only — it does not add to your merit, which is decided on CBE marks — but you must clear it to stay in the selection. Chest (male candidates only)
Male candidates must have a chest of 81 to 85 cm, meaning a minimum of 81 cm unexpanded with a minimum expansion of 4 cm (so 81 cm to 85 cm on full expansion). A 5 cm expansion relaxation applies to candidates from hill areas, Scheduled Tribes and the families of serving Delhi Police personnel. There is no chest requirement for female candidates.

The race is the gate: if you do not finish within the time for your age band, you are out, and the measurements and jumps are taken only after you clear it.

Candidates get three attempts at each jump. The jumps are attempted after the race is cleared, on the same day as the physical measurement.
How the PE&MT works
On the physical test day, candidates first report for document checking, then attempt the 1600 metre race. Those who clear the race proceed to height and chest measurement and then the long jump and high jump. The whole PE&MT is pass or fail — it does not change your rank, which stays fixed on your CBE score. Candidates who fail any physical event are not taken forward.
