Eligibility — who can apply
You are eligible if you have all three of the following:
- Class 12 + a two-year D.Ed Special Education in any disability category — or one of the recognised alternatives (one-year DSE, DCBR/PGDCBR/MRW with the 6-month certificate, Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf, primary-level VI teacher training, DVR-MR, DHLS, or any RCI-recognised qualification of at least one year with the 6-month certificate);
- CTET (Primary stage) qualified (5% relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST/OBC/PwD); and
- Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
No experience is required. Check that your specific diploma is on the RCI-recognised list in Advt 03/2026 before applying.
Exam pattern & selection
Selection is through the one-tier DSSSB Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by document verification. The CBT is an objective, bilingual paper of 200 questions / 200 marks in 2 hours — Section A on general aptitude (General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Hindi, English) and Section B on the subject concerned (special education / child pedagogy) — with 0.25 negative marking per wrong answer. There is no interview.
Age, fee & salary
Age must be not exceeding 30 years (as on 15 July 2026), with relaxation of OBC +3, SC/ST +5, PwBD +10, and an extra 10 years for women candidates. The fee is ₹100 (Gen/OBC/EWS); SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen are exempt (women are also exempt under DSSSB’s standard rule — confirm in the notice). The post carries Pay Level 6 (₹35,400–₹1,12,400).
