The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on Sunday, 21 June 2026 for all candidates who had registered for the cancelled 3 May paper. The advance city-intimation slip is already live, and the fresh admit card — which replaces the earlier one entirely — is due on neet.nta.nic.in by 14 June. Your old 3 May admit card is not valid for the re-exam: centres and in some cases cities have been re-allotted, so download the new document and read it line by line.

Why is there a re-exam at all?

NTA cancelled the 3 May 2026 examination on 12 May after investigators found that a "guess paper" circulating before the exam matched a large share of the actual question paper, with the leak traced to coaching hubs including Sikar in Rajasthan. The matter was handed to the CBI, and the central government ordered a fresh, uniform re-examination for the entire candidate pool — roughly 22.27 lakh registered candidates — rather than score-normalisation for a subset. Nothing you did is affected by the cancellation: your registration, category, choice of language and PwBD facilities carry forward automatically.

How to download the NEET UG 2026 re-exam admit card

  1. Visit neet.nta.nic.in (the only official NEET portal).
  2. Click the "NEET (UG) 2026 Re-Examination Admit Card" link on the home page.
  3. Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth and the security PIN shown.
  4. Download the PDF and check: candidate name and photo, exam centre name and address (it may differ from your 3 May centre), reporting time, language of paper, and PwBD/scribe entitlements.
  5. Print at least two copies on A4. Paste a passport-size photo (same as uploaded) where indicated, and carry a valid original photo ID.

If the portal shows an error against a valid application number, clear the browser cache or try a different browser first; if the problem persists, use the NTA helpline numbers printed on the city-slip notice rather than third-party "fix" services.

Exam-day rules — read before 21 June

  • Timing: paper runs 2:00 PM – 5:15 PM. Entry gates close at 1:30 PM — NTA does not admit late candidates under any circumstance. Plan to reach by 12:30 PM.
  • Dress code: light, half-sleeve clothing without large buttons, brooches or heavy embroidery; slippers or sandals with low heels rather than thick-soled shoes. Candidates wearing religious or customary dress should report about an hour earlier for screening.
  • Barred items: mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, smart bands and watches of any kind, calculators, written or printed paper, wallets, handbags, sunglasses and metallic items. Pens are provided at the centre.
  • Carry: admit card with pasted photo, one passport-size photo (for the attendance sheet), valid original photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, PAN, voter ID or Class 12 admit card), and PwBD certificate/scribe documents where applicable.

Not appearing? The fee-refund window is open

Candidates who do not wish to take the re-examination can apply for a full application-fee refund at neet.nta.nic.in — the window has been extended to 22 June 2026. Claiming the refund withdraws your NEET UG 2026 candidature for this cycle; you cannot refund the fee and also appear on 21 June.

What happens after the re-exam

NTA has not announced the result date for the re-examination, and MCC counselling timelines will be published only after results. Treat any specific result date circulating on social media as unverified — we will update this page the moment NTA issues an official schedule. For preparation in the final week, focus on full-length timed papers in the 2:00 PM slot so your body clock matches exam timing.
