How to raise an objection (offline only)

UPPSC accepts objections on the GIC Lecturer answer key only as an offline written representation — online objections and emails are not entertained. The objection window is announced by UPPSC after the key release, so check uppsc.up.nic.in for the dates and submit before the deadline.

  1. Download the objection / representation form from uppsc.up.nic.in.
  2. Fill in your name, roll number, exam name, your optional subject (code and name) and your question-booklet series (A/B/C/D), and clearly state the disputed question and the answer you believe is correct.
  3. Attach self-attested photocopies of supporting proof — NCERT/SCERT books, government publications or recognised standard textbooks.
  4. Place everything in a sealed envelope and send it by Speed Post / Registered Post / by hand to: The Exam Controller, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, 10 Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Prayagraj – 211018.

UPPSC considers an objection only when it is backed by a credible, published source. There is no online challenge fee — you bear only the postage. Keep a copy of your representation and the dispatch receipt.

What happens after the answer key

Once the objection window closes, UPPSC reviews every valid representation and releases the final answer key with any revised answers. The result and merit list are then prepared on the basis of the final key, after which qualified candidates proceed to the next stage of selection as specified by UPPSC. Because the GIC Lecturer Prelims is a large 1,516-post cohort, a borderline candidate is well advised to prepare documents for the next stage in parallel rather than waiting on the result.

UPPSC Answer Key Score Calculator

Match the official answer key against your response sheet, then enter how many answers you got right and wrong below. The calculator applies the marking scheme to give your estimated raw score.

Formula: Score = (Correct × 2.5) − (Wrong × 0.83)

Example: 72 correct and 24 wrong = (72 × 2.5) − (24 × 0.83) = 160.08 marks.

This is an estimate based on the provisional answer key. Your final score depends on the final answer key issued after objections are reviewed. Unattempted questions score zero. The GIC Lecturer Prelims is a screening test, so use this estimate to judge whether you are in contention for the next stage.

UPPSC GIC Lecturer Answer Key 2026 — Out at uppsc.up.nic.in, Raise Objections — Analysis & Trends

A note for candidates.

Use the official marking scheme, not a guessed one. The single most common mistake at the answer-key stage is estimating your score with an assumed negative-marking rule — check the GIC Lecturer notice/syllabus for the exact marks per question and any penalty, and apply those. Two practical points: challenge only the answers you can back with a credible, published source, because UPPSC rejects vague or coaching-material objections and the per-objection fee adds up; and download or screenshot the answer key and your response record now, since UPPSC portals close these links after the window. Because the GIC Lecturer recruitment fills a large 1,516-post cohort, a borderline candidate is well advised to prepare documents for the next stage in parallel rather than waiting on the result. Verify the exact objection dates, fee and marking against uppsc.up.nic.in, since UPPSC publishes these on its own portal rather than through aggregator sites.
