CUET UG 2026 Counselling — DU CSAS & University-Wise Admission Guide

The CUET UG 2026 result was declared on 23 June 2026, and undergraduate admission now happens through counselling. The one thing every candidate must understand first: there is no single, centralized CUET counselling. NTA only conducts the test and gives you a score — then each of the 250+ participating universities runs its own admission on your CUET score, so you must register separately on every university you want to join. The biggest centralized exception is Delhi University’s CSAS, covered in detail below.

Is there one CUET counselling, or does each university run its own?

Each university runs its own. CUET is the common entrance test, not a common admission system — your normalized CUET score is the currency, but where and how you use it depends on each university’s process, portal, preference window, and cut-off. Practically, that means: shortlist the universities you want, then go to each one’s admission portal and register there with your CUET application number. A few large universities run a single centralized seat-allocation system (Delhi University’s CSAS is the prime example); most others publish their own programme-wise cut-offs and merit lists.

Delhi University CSAS-UG 2026 — the 3-phase process

DU’s Common Seat Allocation System is the single biggest CUET counselling. It runs in three phases:

1. Phase 1 — Registration: create your CSAS profile using your CUET application number, fill personal and academic details, and pay the registration fee — ₹250 for General/OBC-NCL/EWS and ₹100 for SC/ST/PwBD. This phase opened on 17 June 2026 and can be done even before checking your result.
2. Phase 2 — Preference (choice) filling: after the result, you select college × programme combinations in order of preference (the portal allows a large number of combinations). This is the most decision-critical step — order your preferences carefully, because seats are allotted strictly in that order.
3. Phase 3 — Seat allocation & admission: DU releases simulated ranks and then round-wise allotments. On an allotment you accept the seat, pay the admission fee, and choose Freeze (keep this seat) or Upgrade (try for a higher preference in the next round).

The exact Phase 2 and seat-allocation dates are announced on the CSAS portal — some figures circulating online are recycled from earlier years, so rely on the live portal, not predictions.

How to use your CUET scorecard for admission

1. Download your CUET scorecard from cuet.nta.nic.in.
2. Register separately on each target university’s portal (new registration → enter your CUET application number and date of birth; details auto-fetch).
3. Upload the required documents and pay each university’s registration fee.
4. Fill college/programme preferences where the university uses a preference system.
5. Wait for the university’s merit list / cut-off, then the seat allotment rounds.
6. On allotment, complete document verification and pay the admission fee to confirm your seat.

How CUET normalization & merit work

Because CUET runs across many shifts and days of differing difficulty, NTA uses equipercentile normalization: raw shift marks are converted to a percentile within the shift and then equated across shifts into a normalized score. Universities and CSAS admit on this normalized score / percentile, not on raw marks, and there is no single national merit list — each university builds its own merit list and cut-off from CUET normalized scores.

• Class 10 marksheet/certificate (date of birth proof)
• Class 12 marksheet/certificate (used for eligibility, not for rank)
• Photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / Voter ID / Passport / Driving Licence)

CUET cut-off — what to expect

There is no single CUET cut-off. Each university (and each college and programme within it) releases its own cut-off / minimum requirement based on the CUET normalized scores, the number of seats, and the applicant pool. These are published during counselling, not in advance — any "expected cut-off" numbers circulating now are coaching estimates, so check the official cut-off list of the university and programme you are applying to.
