HBSE 12 Toppers 2026 — Deepika tops with 499/500
Deepika, an Arts stream student from Vivekanand Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School in Chhillar village, Rewari district, secured the state's top position by scoring a near-perfect 499 out of 500 marks (99.8%). The top 3 ranks state-wide:
- Rank 1 — Deepika (Arts): 499/500 from Rewari
- Rank 2 — Udita: 498/500
- Rank 3 (joint) — Yogita + Muskan: 497/500 each
In the Science stream specifically, Vanshika Mahajan topped with 494/500; the Rank-2 position is jointly held by Simran, Aman and Shubham at 493/500 each. Unlike CBSE (which has stopped publishing toppers lists since 2017), HBSE continues to release an official state-wide merit list — common practice across most Indian state boards.
Stream-wise performance — Science leads
The 2026 result confirms the typical HBSE pattern — Science stream posts the highest pass rate at 90.08%, followed by Commerce at 88.20%, with Arts trailing at 82.60%. The state-overall figure of 84.67% reflects Arts being the largest cohort by candidate count — most Haryana Class 12 students enroll in Arts streams, dragging the weighted average below the per-stream Science/Commerce performance. The 8-percentage-point spread between Science (90.08%) and Arts (82.60%) is consistent with HBSE cycles over the last 5 years.
District-wise toppers + Charkhi Dadri leads state
Charkhi Dadri emerged as the top-performing district in HBSE 2026 — a notable achievement for what is one of Haryana's smaller districts (carved out of Bhiwani in 2016). The district's tight school network and focused examination preparation infrastructure contributed to its lead. District-wise pass percentages are published in the HBSE press release alongside the main result; check the bseh.org.in news section for the full breakdown.

What to do after the result
- If you cleared: Download and print 2 copies of the provisional scorecard. Apply to undergraduate programmes — Haryana universities (Kurukshetra University, Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, GJU Hisar) open UG admission windows in late May. Central universities accept HBSE Class 12 marks via CUET-UG percentile.
- If you missed 1-2 subjects: Register for the HBSE Supplementary / Compartment Examination 2026 via your school within the registration window. Supplementary exam typically conducted in June-July 2026; result usually follows in August.
- If your marks look wrong: Apply for Re-evaluation / Re-checking on the HBSE candidate portal within 30 days of result declaration. Per-subject fee approximately ₹250-₹400. Re-evaluation marks can revise up or down — application is final once submitted.
- If you want to repeat the year: Apply for re-admission to Class 12 directly at your school within 60 days. Alternatively, register as a private candidate for next year's cycle through your district HBSE office in Bhiwani.
HBSE Class 12 result — historical pattern
The 84.67% pass rate places 2026 modestly below HBSE's 5-year average. Reference figures from prior cycles:
- 2025: 85.66% (slightly higher than 2026's 84.67% — small year-on-year dip of 0.99 pp)
- 2024: 87.79%
- 2023: 81.65%
- 2022: 87.08%
- 2021: 100% (COVID assessment-formula year — no exams held)
Excluding the COVID-inflated 2021 outlier, HBSE's typical Class 12 pass rate sits in the 81-88% band. The 2026 result is well within that historical range. The 0.99 pp dip from 2025 is not statistically meaningful.
Career pathways after HBSE Class 12
An HBSE Class 12 pass opens multiple paths. For undergraduate admissions in Haryana — Kurukshetra University (KUK), Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak (MDU), Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU Hisar) and GJU Hisar — UG application windows open in late May. Central universities including Delhi University, JNU, BHU and Jamia Millia Islamia admit via CUET-UG using HBSE marks as the eligibility floor. Engineering aspirants combine HBSE with JEE Main / Advanced for IIT/NIT admissions; medical aspirants with NEET UG for MBBS. For government recruitment, HBSE Class 12 is accepted as "Higher Secondary" for SSC CHSL, RRB NTPC undergraduate posts, Agniveer entries and Haryana state recruitments — see our 12th pass jobs hub.
