How IBPS PO 2026 Notification (CRP PO/MT-XV): Vacancies, Apply Online Final Score is Calculated

Final selection is based on combined Mains and Interview marks per IBPS Common Recruitment Process formula.

StageWeightMarks contribution
Mains examination 80% Out of 200 marks → scaled to 80% weight
Common interview 20% Out of 100 marks → scaled to 20% weight

Note: A candidate must qualify each stage independently with sectional + overall cut-offs before the combined merit is computed. Prelims is purely qualifying — its marks do NOT count in final selection.

IBPS PO 2026 Notification (CRP PO/MT-XV): Vacancies, Apply Online — Previous Year Cutoff (Reference)

Previous-cycle cutoffs help calibrate your target score. Note that final selection cutoffs (post-Mains + Interview) move 8-15 marks year-on-year depending on paper difficulty and applicant pool. Figures below are sourced from careerpower.in and testbook.com aggregations of IBPS released cutoffs.

Year Stage UR OBC SC ST EWS Out of
2025 Prelims 49.21 49.21 45.96 41.5 49.21 100
2024 Prelims 53.63 53.63 50.13 45.5 53.63 100
2024 Mains 74.13 70.5 62.25 56.75 70.5 200

How to read this table: 2025 Prelims cutoffs were notably lower than 2024 across all categories — UR/OBC/EWS converged at 49.21 because the paper was a touch harder and the qualifying threshold dropped. Mains cutoffs sit around 35-40% of total marks; UR aspirants should target 80+ in Mains and 60+ in Prelims for a comfortable buffer in 2026, given vacancy is expected to remain in the 5,000-6,500 range.

IBPS PO 2026 Notification (CRP PO/MT-XV): Vacancies, Apply Online — Analysis & Trends

2026 vacancy update — pending official notification

IBPS has not yet released the CRP PO/MT-XV 2026 notification (expected July-August 2026 per the IBPS annual calendar). The most recent completed cycle (CRP PO/MT-XIV, 2025) totalled approximately 5,208 vacancies across the same 11 Public Sector Banks. We will update the per-bank split — Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Indian Bank, UCO Bank and the eight others — within 30 minutes of the official PDF dropping on ibps.in.

Cut-off direction across stages

The 2024 IBPS PO Prelims cut-offs landed at 56.5 for UR (out of 100), 54.5 for OBC, 49.0 for SC and 44.5 for ST. Mains cut-offs (out of 200) settled at 78.5 UR, 73.5 OBC, 64.5 SC and 58.5 ST. The 2025 cycle saw a 3-5 mark drop in Mains following a notably difficult Data Analysis section. For 2026, expect Prelims cut-offs to rise back to 2024 norms — UR aspirants should target 60+ in Prelims and 90+ in Mains for safe shortlisting to interview.

Banking Awareness — the differentiator

The Mains General/Economy/Banking Awareness section (40 questions) has historically been the lowest-attempted across PO Mains — most candidates score 18-22 out of 40, leaving 18-22 marks on the table. A focused 6-week programme of daily monthly-magazines (Banking Quest, Pratiyogita Darpan), the RBI annual report summary and IBA bulletins typically lifts this section to 28-32. That alone is often the difference between cut-off and final allotment.

Parallel banking exams to apply for

Beyond IBPS PO, the same prep window covers SBI Clerk, IBPS Clerk, RBI Assistant, and the NABARD Grade A exam — all use the Quant + Reasoning + English + Banking Awareness pattern with minor variations. The smartest aspirants apply for 4-5 banking exams in the same year — the cumulative selection probability is significantly higher than relying on IBPS PO alone. RBI Grade B is the gold standard but requires deeper Economics + Finance prep — start that one 9-12 months before the notification.
