Educational Qualification:

• Ayurveda stream: Postgraduate degree (MD / MS Ayurveda) in any specialty from an institute recognised under the Indian Medicine Central Council Act / NCISM Act.
• Unani stream: Postgraduate degree (MD / MS Unani) in any specialty from an institute recognised under the NCISM Act / earlier Central Council of Indian Medicine.
• Siddha stream: Postgraduate degree (MD Siddha) in any specialty from an institute recognised under the NCISM Act.
• Homoeopathy stream: Postgraduate degree (MD Homoeopathy) in any specialty from an institute recognised under the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) Act.

Nationality: Indian citizens. Foreign nationals holding recognised PG qualifications in AYUSH / Homoeopathy may appear per NCISM + NCH specific clauses.

How to Check Your Result

1. Visit the official portal of NTA — direct link in the result CTA above.
2. Locate the result link for the relevant examination + year (most boards have a dedicated result-check page per cycle).
3. Enter your Roll Number and Date of Birth exactly as they appear on the admit card.
4. Submit the form. The provisional mark sheet PDF will display on screen.
5. Save and print at least two copies of the score card for your records.
6. Cross-check name spelling, subject codes, and totals. If anything looks wrong, follow the re-checking / re-evaluation process within the official window.
7. The original embossed mark sheet is collected from the candidate's school 30-60 days later, when the examining body dispatches printed certificates.

What is NTET — and why this result matters

The National Teachers Eligibility Test (NTET) is the mandatory eligibility examination for first-time Assistant Professor appointments in AYUSH and Homoeopathy colleges across India. It is conducted under Regulation 8 of the NCISM (National Examinations for Indian System of Medicine) Regulations, 2023. NTA conducts the test on behalf of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) for the Ayurveda / Unani / Siddha streams and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) for the Homoeopathy stream.

Before NTET, AYUSH teacher appointments followed inconsistent state and college-level criteria — each institution decided who qualified to teach. The NTET regime, launched under the 2023 Regulations, replaces this patchwork with a single nationwide eligibility floor: any candidate seeking a first-time Assistant Professor appointment must clear NTET. Existing faculty appointed before the regime are grandfathered in.

How to check NTET 2026 Result + download scorecard

1. Open exams.nta.ac.in/NTET.
2. Click "NTET 2026 Result" on the homepage (or the result notice link dated 16 May 2026).
3. Enter your Application Number + Password (or Application Number + Date of Birth as fallback).
4. Solve the CAPTCHA and submit.
5. Your scorecard opens with: total marks out of 100, percentage, qualification status (Qualified / Not Qualified), category, stream + specialty, and candidate details.
6. Download the PDF + take a printout. Save the file as it is needed when applying to AYUSH + Homoeopathy colleges for Assistant Professor posts.

Qualifying criteria — uniform 50% rule

NTET applies a single qualifying threshold of 50% across all categories (UR, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, PwBD). This differs from many other eligibility tests like UGC NET or CTET which have category-relaxed cut-offs. The rationale: NTET certifies pedagogic + subject competency for teaching AYUSH / Homoeopathy at the assistant-professor level, and the same minimum bar applies regardless of category at the eligibility stage. Category-based reservation applies later at the college recruitment stage (when colleges actually advertise Assistant Professor vacancies).

What qualified candidates do next

1. Download + safeguard the scorecard. The scorecard is the eligibility proof. NCISM and NCH will issue the formal NTET eligibility certificate within 4-6 weeks (per past cycles).
2. Watch for AYUSH + Homoeopathy college Assistant Professor vacancy notifications. Government AYUSH colleges (under State Health Departments + Central AYUSH bodies) and private AYUSH + Homoeopathy colleges advertise Assistant Professor vacancies periodically. Recent recruiters include National Institute of Ayurveda (Jaipur), All India Institute of Ayurveda (Delhi), Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (Jamnagar), NIH Kolkata, and various state AYUSH university colleges.
3. Apply with NTET scorecard + PG degree + experience documents. The selection process at the college level usually includes a screening interview + teaching demonstration. NTET clears the eligibility floor; the college decides the actual appointment.
4. Continue research + publications. Assistant Professor appointments increasingly weight peer-reviewed publications + research experience alongside the NTET certificate. Build a research profile in parallel for stronger candidacy.

What if you didn't clear NTET 2026?

Candidates below the 50% threshold can re-appear in the next NTET cycle (typically once per academic year per NCISM calendar). Between cycles:

1. Strengthen subject-specific PG study. NTET tests core PG-level knowledge in the chosen AYUSH / Homoeopathy specialty. Revisit your PG curriculum, especially the foundational subjects (Sharir / Mizaj / Tridosha for Ayurveda; Asraf / Jism for Unani; Theory of Saara for Siddha; Organon / Materia Medica for Homoeopathy).
2. Look at parallel medical-education tracks. If teaching is the long-term goal, consider also writing the AIIMS NORCET 10 (Nursing Officer) and similar central-medical recruitments for paid roles while preparing for the next NTET cycle.
3. Watch NCISM + NCH circulars. NTET pattern and qualifying criteria can be revised periodically. The 100 MCQ / 120-minute / 50% framework dates from the 2023 Regulations; future revisions are possible.
