⏰ Objection Window Closes Tonight — 17 May 2026, 11:59 PM IST

CBSE released the KVS + NVS Tier-II provisional answer key on 13 May 2026 at cbseit.in/cbse/2026/kvjnvkeyt2/ for the 27-31 March Mains exam. The objection window — and the OMR sheet download portal — both close tonight at 11:59 PM IST. With 15,762 KVS + NVS posts at stake and a ₹1,000 per-question objection fee, file only objections you can defend with verifiable sources.

What this recruitment cycle is

This is the combined KVS + NVS Teaching and Non-Teaching cycle for 2026, conducted by CBSE on behalf of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Both are autonomous bodies under the Ministry of Education running central government schools across India. KVS schools serve children of central government employees, defence personnel, Railway staff and PSU employees. NVS schools are district-level residential schools for talented rural students. Combined intake: 15,762 posts across Principal, Vice Principal, PGT, TGT, PRT, Librarian and non-teaching support staff. The Tier-II Mains is the deciding round for merit.

How to download your answer key + response sheet

  1. Open cbseit.in/cbse/2026/kvjnvkeyt2/ on a desktop or laptop.
  2. Click "Candidate Login".
  3. Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth (the same credentials used at Tier-I application).
  4. Download the provisional answer key PDF + your response sheet + the scanned OMR sheet. All three are available until 11:59 PM tonight.
  5. Match every question option-by-option. Compute your estimated marks: (Correct × 1) − (Wrong × 0.25) for the objective section, plus descriptive section marks if you have access to your scanned descriptive answers.
  6. Note disputed questions and the verifiable source you will cite in each objection.

One-shot download: The OMR sheet download portal closes at 11:59 PM tonight. There is no second chance to download your scanned OMR sheet after this. Save it locally before the deadline regardless of whether you plan to object.

Provisional vs Final answer key — and the ₹1,000 cost filter

ProvisionalFinal
Released13 May 2026June 2026 (expected)
Objection windowYes (5 days)No
Used for scoringNoYes
Per-question objection fee₹1,000 (refunded if accepted)Not applicable

At ₹1,000 per challenge, this fee is on the higher end — matching the EMRS Tier-II rate. Practical implication: if you have 2-3 strong NCERT-backed challenges, file all of them. If you are guessing on 10+ questions, the cost-benefit does not work in your favour. Be selective.

What happens after tonight

  • Subject committee review: CBSE expert panel reviews every accepted objection.
  • Final answer key release: Within 2 to 4 weeks (June 2026).
  • Tier-II result: Published immediately after, with category-wise and post-wise cut-offs.
  • Skill test / Interview: Post-dependent. Principal and Vice Principal candidates appear for a personal interview. PGT / TGT / PRT / Librarian candidates may have a skill test or demonstrative class.
  • Document verification: Originals of Class 10 + 12 marksheets, qualifying degree, B.Ed / M.Ed for teaching posts, CTET certificate for TGT and PRT (mandatory), age proof, caste / EWS / PwD certificate as applicable.
  • Final posting: At a Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS) or Navodaya Vidyalaya (NVS) pan-India.

For other teaching-cadre cycles, see the just-shipped CTET September 2026 page (mandatory for KVS / NVS TGT / PRT applicants) and the EMRS Tier-II Answer Key page (sister Ministry of Tribal Affairs cycle with the same objection deadline tonight).
