The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 03/2026 for 119 Section Controller posts across the Zonal Railways of Indian Railways. Graduates aged 20 to 33 years (as on 1 July 2026) can apply online from 15 July to 14 August 2026. The post carries Pay Level-6 of the 7th Pay Commission with a basic pay of Rs 35,400.
Eligibility — who can apply
You need a graduate degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification. Importantly, candidates still awaiting their final graduation result are not eligible — the degree must be complete on the cut-off date. The age limit is 20 to 33 years as on 1 July 2026, with relaxation of 3 years for OBC-NCL, 5 years for SC/ST, and further relaxation for other categories as per Railway rules. The prescribed medical standard is A-2.
How to apply
- Go to rrbapply.gov.in and register (or log in) with a valid email and mobile number.
- Fill the application, upload your photograph and signature, and select your preferred RRB.
- Pay the application fee before 16 August 2026.
- Submit before the deadline of 14 August 2026 (23:59 Hrs) and save the confirmation. A correction window is open 17–26 August 2026.
Application fee
General / OBC / EWS: Rs 500 — of which Rs 400 is refunded after you appear in the CBT (subject to bank charges). Female / SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen / Minority / EBC: Rs 250, also refundable after appearing in the CBT. Pay online through net banking, card or UPI.
Selection process
Selection has four stages: a single-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification, and a Medical Examination. The CBAT is a psycho-aptitude test with no re-test, so a minimum standard must be met in each test battery. The CBT and CBAT dates are yet to be announced — check the official notice and the RRB websites for updates.

RRB Section Controller Online Form 2026: 119 Posts, Apply by 14 August — Analysis & Trends
A note for candidates.
Section Controller is one of the better-paid graduate railway posts — Level-6 with a basic of Rs 35,400 is a step above the Level-2/3 clerical and technician grades — so 119 vacancies will draw very heavy competition. The two things that decide this recruitment are the single-stage CBT and, unusually, the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): the CBAT is a psycho-aptitude test (the same one used for Assistant Loco Pilot) where there is no re-test and a minimum standard must be met in each battery, so it cannot be crammed the night before. Apply early, keep your graduation certificate ready (candidates still awaiting their final result are not eligible), and use the 17–26 August correction window only if you must. For the exact CBT/CBAT dates and the detailed exam pattern, rely on the official CEN 03/2026 notice.
